CSA Launches New Website

By Christine Doyle, MD, FASA

The CSA launched its new website beginning of June during the House of Delegates meeting.  This has been a months-long process, starting from proposals in October to this weekend’s launch.  Our new website serves as the communication foundation for the association – housing our resources, providing information for internal and external audiences, and facilitating member engagement.

Our goals for the new site include representing anesthesiologists as critical experts who are driven to advance patient safety and the healthcare system; communicate what CSA does and the value of membership; and provide easy access to member benefits.

Our new site also has a new navigation structure, centered around our Issues, our Resources, our Meetings, our Members, and About Us.  This approach was developed to be more functionally aligned with how people use our site and the highest priorities to our members.  It also includes a Job Board, which any CSA Member may view once logged-in. Overall the design is more streamlined and modern – it is easy to use and fits an updated “look and feel” for the association.

This website also aligns with our membership database seamlessly, and the single-sign on process is fast and smooth.

You will notice that all the pages load more quickly, particularly the Meetings section.

We also have the new Member Portal, which links to the online community (you will need to log in again) as well as providing your history of events attended and donations made.

While we are excited for the site’s launch, this is still technically version 1.0 – there is more content we are continuing to shift over from the old site, and many new resources that will be launched in the coming months.  Some of our older content will be archived.

There were many people actively involved to make this happen, specifically I’d like to thank the CSA Board of Directors and House of Delegates for their leadership in approving the project and the resources necessary to accomplish it. Thank you to the members who joined me on the Task Force for the Website Redesign, including Dr. Emily Methangkool, Dr. Gerard Dang, Dr. Christina Menor, and Dr. Jenni Bartlotti Telesz.

I’d also like to thank the staff that was behind this project, thank you to Megan MacNee and Katelyn Peyser from the CSA office and Alison MacLeod from KP Public Affairs, for all of the hard work to get this done in time for the House of Delegates meeting. The website will continue to be updated and refined moving forward.

We encourage you to visit the new site to explore its new structure and enhanced functionality. As always, we welcome your feedback on recommended resources or photos to include moving forward.
