Stanford Health Matters 2026: Pediatric Pain Team Showcases Integrative Approaches

Stanford, CA – May 16, 2026 – Members of the Stanford Pediatric Pain team proudly represented their division at the Stanford Health Matters 2026 community event held on the Stanford University School of Medicine campus.

The team engaged with families, students, and community members, highlighting innovative and integrative strategies for pediatric pain management and research. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about a range of evidence-based, non-pharmacologic tools designed to help children and adolescents better manage pain.

Highlights from the event included:

  • Dr. Genevieve D’Souza demonstrating acupressure techniques and discussing integrative medicine approaches for pediatric pain relief.
  • Interactive demonstrations showing how stress cards serve as effective biofeedback tools to teach children cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) skills for pain and stress management.

The Stanford team was well-represented by CSA members Dr. Genevieve D’Souza and Dr. Amber Borucki, along with colleagues from the Division of Pain Medicine.

Events like Stanford Health Matters play a vital role in connecting academic medicine with the broader community, helping to raise awareness of comprehensive, multidisciplinary approaches to pediatric pain care.
