- The Improving Care and Access to Nurses (ICAN) Act (S. 575/H.R. 1317), “aims to modernize Medicare and Medicaid by allowing CRNAs to practice to the full extent of their education. Key provisions for nurse anesthetists include removing federal physician supervision requirements, enabling direct payment for services, and authorizing them to order/refer necessary care.”
- The Ensuring Veterans Timely Access to Anesthesia Care Act of 2025 (H.R 2234), ”directs the Department of Veterans Affairs to update anesthesia and pain management standards in the Veterans Health Administration to improve timely, high‑quality care for veterans, including recognizing certified registered nurse anesthetists as licensed independent practitioners.”
